The picture book Something Else by Kathryn Cave with Chris Riddell illustrations, tells the story of a ‘creature’ who is told he is ‘not like us’.

It explores fitting in and how we cope with not fitting in, as well as how we can be friends to someone who is being excluded. Kathryn has written more than 20 children's books for all ages including Something Else.

Chris Riddell was a student of Raymond Briggs at Brighton. He now works in a range of different areas of illustration, including political cartoons. He has written and illustrated many children's books and has won the Kate Greenaway Medal twice /5(86).

Between February, and April,the Something Else Newsletter functioned as an all-purpose bulletin for Dick Higgins’ Something Else Press, under whose aegis some of the most radical art of that period flourished.
